Main Article Content
Abstract
Asthma is a pathology of chronic inflammatory origin with high prevalence in childhood. Due to the scarcity of literature, we saw the importance of disseminating information about the influence of physical therapy rehabilitation on the quality of life of patients with asthma in children and adolescents. Therefore, the present study aims to analyze and gather current evidence in order to present the most effective exercise-based interventions in the current literature for the physical therapy treatment of asthma in children and adolescents. Six studies were included after exclusion due to lack of adequacy to the proposed study, each with its own interventions for treating individuals in different stages of asthma. There is a wide variety of techniques to be used in the treatment of asthma found in this study, including: aerobic exercise, resistance exercise, high-intensity interval training, neuromuscular electrical stimulation, non-invasive mechanical ventilation, inspiratory muscle training, we suggest further research in order to reinforce the use of each technique and the target group.
